NOTICES & CLUB EVENTS 2019 - 2020
(The Rotary Year is from 1st July 20198 - 30 June 2020)

Rotary motto (9Kb)

The Rotary Year for The Rotary Club of Chester-le-Street began on 1st July 2019.

On Friday 28th June 2019 - we inducted our new Club President: Rotarian Linda Watson for the year 2019 - 2020

President Linda's chosen charity for the forthcoming Rotary year is:

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust

Throughout the year The Rotary Club of Chester-le-Street will be organising events to raise funds for the President's chosen charity, and other Rotary projects in support of our local, national and international communities.  We also promote & encourage good fellowship among our members, their families and friends throughout the Rotary year with ongoing charitable projects and social engagements, as follows:-

This year ,I am intending to look at the mounting issues of the homeless and lonely, by organising a Christmas Dinner for approx. 30 to 40 people, who would otherwise have little or no celebration.

I would also like to introduce the idea of developing a love of literature in the early years, with those young children ,who have no opportunity to discover books.

Forthcoming Events

As your Webmaster I am in the ideal position to act as a Hub for all email and other contacts, can I now suggest that we all try to keep in touch through me (Webmaster).

First Item of great importance is from John Tootill.

John (Club Service) suggests a joint Presidents night, (Linda & John) to be possibly held on the 6th November 2020.

He has three possible Venues in mind depending on availability and Guest numbers.

Bowburn Hall.jpg Holgart Manor.jpg Eslington Villa Hotel.jpg

Bowburn Hall                                 Holgarth Manor                             Eslington Villa Hotel

Please let Me and/or John, know of any interest and possible numbers of guests, it’s a long time ahead but we must be looking forward to the return to normality.

As I am intending to act as a hub for any emails of interest  Members,

Please let me have at any time,

Ideas, Comments, Moans, Jokes, or in fact anything of general interest.

I am hoping to be able to arrange a time and day for a form of “open get together on line” to discuss the weeks comments and views .

i.e. 12.30pm Fridays, or any time and day more suitable everyone.

Let’s set the ball rolling and keep our Club alive.

 Update

 3rd April

John Tootill is proposing that for Presidents Night on 6th November 2020, the preferred Venue should be Holgarth Manor.

Could members please let either John or me (Webmaster) know of possible numbers and your Venue preference.
