Sponsored Walkers 2016

Organised by Rotarian John Stewart, Chair of the Rotary Clubs' Vocational & Community Service Committee, The Annual Sponsorsed Walk by the Rotary Club of Chester-le-Street was held, on Saturday 7th May 2016, to raise funds in aid of Club President Jim Lawrence's chosen charity, The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Those walking met and commenced the walk at the Sculpture of a Soldier "Tommy" at Seaham seafront, near the harbour, at 10.00 a.m, on Saturday 7 May 2016. The circular coastal walk, entitled by Rotarian John, "Tommy's Toddle", was about 5 miles in length, flat, with lovely views.

While the walk was on-going some of our members lingered in the vicinity of the sculpture of 'Tommy', to collect money in their bucket from generous passers-by in aid of our Club President's charity The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Afterwards the Walkers re-grouped at the Sculptue of 'Tommy' for a photo-call, followed by lunch in nearby Cafes.
